In that moment, I knew I wanted a place where people could come together. I wanted us to create and share our unique knowledge.
We learn through teaching and listening. This shared pursuit produces the best product and a collective soul for our brand.
We believe in doing meaningful work. We are proud of every floral arrangement we send out into the world for our customers.
I was lucky that Katie was also at that table. She understood my vision, and our shared journey became a dedicated dream.
We built a place where community and shared experiences connect people. It is a space where creativity is always in bloom.

The Founders and the Blooms Collective story
Lauren lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, three children, and a sassy boxer named Louise.
She has lived in the UK and the New York area, but DC is home. Lauren was originally a large animal veterinarian.
She came to floristry in a "Sliding Doors" moment. After losing her mother, she was seeking a fresh reboot for her life.
While in an Uber one evening, she saw a sign for a local flower shop. Two weeks later, she was working there.
The rest of our path is history. It involved freelancing, wiring, watering, and dealing with very dry, cracked hands.
Lauren brings her technical care and passion for nature to every part of our business and to all of our daily work.
She believes that working with flowers helps tell the inspirational stories of our clients during their biggest life moments.
Our brand grew from her desire to find beauty in life again. That creative heart is in everything we create for you.
Through our work, Lauren has found a way to merge art with her love for the natural world that surrounds us all here.
Every day at the studio, she ensures our floral designs represent the collective soul of our community and local partners.
Katie also lives in DC with her husband and a 95-pound lap dog. She is truly a cat person at heart.
As a child, she dreamed of fashion design or being an astronaut. She landed in the middle after a corporate detour.
After work-induced burnout during COVID, Katie looked for a new path. She was already a gardener and market creator.
Floristry seemed worth a try for her. A few years later, she knows it was the right choice for her professional future.
Katie’s eye for detail is vital to our workflow. She ensures every stem is perfectly placed inside our local flower shop.
She loves seeing the studio in bloom during the height of spring. It marks a beautiful chapter in our shared experience.
For Katie, our craft is about growth. It is about leaving the corporate world to find something real and very tangible.
